vogler pages 197-228

Vogler, Christopher. The Writers Journey. 3rd edition. Studio City: Michael Wiese Productions, 2007
summary: In this section Vogler discusses the ressuration and the return with the exlier which are 2 very important parts of the story. the resurrection is the part in the story which the character must be reborn once more because that is what the audience wants. This section is also needed to show not only the hero learned a lesson but that he has retained the information. This section is also the climax of the story. In the section about the return with the elixer describes how the hero returns with something from the special world. Vogler also describes that there should be a certain amount of surprise witht the return with the elixer. He says that there should be some twist to it.
Reflection: I agree that the character must be tested once more after they have been initail taught the lesson. Just like when he describes the college student with the midterms and finals. The hero must be tested so they the audience knows that the hero has absolutely gaineds some knowledge that they will be taking with them.
Questions
What are some examples of elixers? How does what they are influence there importance?
What are some movies and books that have a twist in the return with the elixer?
