Vogler, Christopher. The Writers Journey. 3rd edition. Studio City: Michael Wiese Productions, 2007
Summary: In this part of the Vogler discusses the apporach to the inner most cave and the ordeal. In the apporach to the inner most cave was about the events leading up to the ordeal such as getting ready and having that last ciggeratte. In the section about the ordeal this is were the death and rebirth occur. Also what occurs is the major change in characteritcs of the hero.
Reflection: I disagree that the major change in the hero happens in ordeal stage. I think that the major change in the character ocurs in the special worl when it begins.
Questions: How is the death and rebirth depicted in movies?
What are different ways that it is depicted?
How is the ordeal important to the story?

Vogler, Christopher. The Writers Journey. 3rd edition. Studio City: Michael Wiese Productions, 2007
Summary: In this section of the book, Vogler discusses the crossing of the first threshold and test allies and enemies. In the section about the crossing of the first thershold Vogler discusses different ways that the hero can approach the threshold such as being forced. Also Vogler talks about the threshold guardians and their importance. Also in the section we had to read test allies and eniemies. In this section Vogler discusses the importance of the people that surrond the hero.
Reflection: In my opinion the most important thing in this section is the importance of the allies and enemies and sidekicks. This is important because through the relationships that the character has it can show more about the character and how they are as a person.
Questions:
Is there a sidekike in your life who provides comic relief? Who are they and how do they do it?
What are different thresholds that you have had in your own life and how did you get through them?
In more modern movies what are some examples of the watering hole is it still asd important as it used to be?

Vogler, Christopher. The Writers Journey. 3rd edition. Studio City: Michael Wiese Productions, 2007.
Summary: In this section of the book Vogler discusses two things. He first focuses on the refusal of the call. The refusal of the call is about trying to aviod the adventure and the hero gives many lame excuses to get out of it, but if the hero does not eventually give in the the call tragedy can ensue, for example Lot looking back turns her into a pillar of salt. Also the hero might face two calls to adventure at once and must decide which one to go with. This makes him or her have to get there priorities straight. There are also some occasions where they hero actually tries or seeks out adventure.
The other part that Vogler discusses is the meeting with the mentor. This section is about how the mentor can impact the hero. The ways they can do this are being sources of wisdom. The mentors can teach the hero what they know and what they have experienced before. The mentor can also lead the hero in the wrong direction such as getting the hero to work with the other side.
Reaction. In my opinion the refusal of the call is a very important aspect of the story because it allows you to get to know the hero better. You get to understand what they are about and how the added pressure of the adventure can affect them. i also think the meeting with the mentor is very important because it lets you know who the character trusts and who the character wants help from.
Questions
In this modern time what kind of mentor to people want when the watch a movie or read a book?
Have you ever "refused a call" why did you refuse it?
What are some good reasons a hero might refuse a call?

Plan for revision
There are many things that I have to do to revise my paper. One thing that I have to do is be more specific and not use this that it etc. Another thing that I have to do is work on the wording of my sentences. I have a tendency to word things awkwardly. One more thing that I have to do is "unpack" my sentences. which means to add more detial to the sections.
Steps for editing:
For editing I have to check spelling, punctuation, and sentence construction.
